Loneliness

Loneliness is a painful and frightening feeling that people avoid facing this feeling. The definition of loneliness varies from person to person. For example, while some define loneliness as living alone, some define it as isolating oneself from society, while others define it as loneliness experienced as a result of being pushed and excluded by one's environment. Of course, it is possible to multiply these definitions, but the only thing that does not change is that the person defines all of these as "loneliness". People are often so afraid of being alone that they do not even allow situations in their lives where they need to be alone. For example, someone who has lost a loved one does not want to be alone, or when they are alone in the future, they find themselves doing things that have nothing to do with them. A newborn baby establishes a close relationship with its mother, and when it reaches childhood, it tries to eliminate this loneliness by establishing new friendships. In adolescence, it wants to expand its circle more. In adulthood, it wants to keep the relationships it has established, not to lose its friends, and people who are so afraid of being alone go to great lengths to avoid losing their friends. They make an effort. A child who cannot receive the love of his or her parents during childhood may have difficulty establishing relationships with the people around him in later years. Since it is already restrictive for adults to show their love for each other in our society, this situation may cause individuals to become lonely in the future and continue their lives as introverted individuals. People can create various defense mechanisms to relieve their loneliness or avoid thinking about it. For example, situations such as constantly and excessively eating, meaninglessly and constantly buying things, watching movies or television repeatedly, and not being able to stop watching shop windows may occur. Sometimes people experience different periods of loneliness. During these periods, the goals and interests in their lives seem to be completely reset, and this situation can sometimes be perceived as an illness by the people around them.

The important point here is that every person may want to be alone from time to time. This desire made him think more about himself and review his experiences. It can enable him to make inferences about what he wants to do in his life and what he does not want to do in his life, in short, how he wants to live his life. This desire to be alone or to be extremely lonely can completely isolate people from society or their own lives. In such cases, the person must either become aware of the reasons underlying this desire, or the attitudes of the people around him must be observed towards that person.
