Migration and Human Psychology

Why do people leave their country at the expense of their lives? Why do they migrate despite the possibility of suffocation in truck containers or drowning in the open sea? We want to raise some awareness about the human psychology that experiences migration.

Migration, as a historical phenomenon, has accelerated over the centuries with globalization movements from east to west and west to east, including economic, political,

war, social reasons and disasters.

REASONS FOR MIGRATION:

-Escape from war and death,

-Wanting to study in countries where education is better,

-Due to the political structure of the country, well-educated people want to leave, which is called brain drain, in order for educated people to have better opportunities, and they want to live their ideas.

-Involuntary war, welfare, politics, economic being under pressure due to situation or religious belief, etc. We can list the reasons.

Especially our country has been faced with such situations recently. Whatever the reasons, nations that have migrated and become refugees, whose psychology has been damaged, who have no economic situation, or who have faced culture shock should not be destroyed by considering the burdens they carry, without showing sociologically hostile attitudes, isolating, excluding, or tormenting them.

In this way, we can prevent social conflict, murder and similar problems. Especially considering the psychology of the children of these families, cooperation should be made in accordance with universal, moral and conscientious values, and they should be supported in adapting to society. Otherwise, we would create an unsafe environment as it would provoke people who had to leave their homeland, lead them to crime, pose a threat to society, and cause us to experience security concerns in our own lives.

WHAT TO DO?

-Discrimination and second-class treatment should be ended, their integration should be ensured,

-Job opportunities should be offered, children's educational problems should be solved,

-The opportunity to benefit from social rights should be given, they should be directed to language courses and seminars,

-Psychological and sociological support should be given, awareness should be raised so that they do not experience culture shock and adapt to the culture,

-We know that there are many citizens who cannot benefit from social rights in their own countries. However, the exclusion of refugees, fights and separations cause them to become ghettos (ghetto: people of the same or similar origins weave a cocoon for themselves against the external environment they see as dangerous and try to solve the problems they experience in their own way and tolerate losses).

-Especially women should be provided with psychological support and attend courses and seminars that are social activities so that they do not become lonely.

-If the society is a society where there is peace and love, tranquility and happiness, rights and law, it will be on the way to progress, growth and reaching its goal. takes confident steps.

-Polarizations such as fighting, anger, and resentment divide the society and cause wounds, causing us to become a goalless, shrinking, narrow, unhappy and problematic society.
