GENERAL GYNECOLOGY
Gynecology; It is a very broad and detailed medical specialty that deals with diseases of the female reproductive systems. It comes from the English word "Gynecic" and means "related to women".
In general terms, gynecology is discussed under the following headings:
Diseases related to the ovary
Diseases related to the uterus
Diseases related to the cervix
Genital infections
Sexually transmitted diseases
HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)
Other issues (Breast diseases, Groin Pains, . . etc.)
Gynecology; It includes hymen, menstrual bleeding, menstrual pain, abnormal bleeding.
Gynecological examination usually disturbs the patient physically and psychologically. Normally, everyone who is sexually active should have a regular examination at least once a year. This will provide early diagnosis for possible diseases and will also reduce the occurrence of undesirable sad situations.
If it is the first time you come for an examination, the doctor will ask for some private information that will remain only between the doctor and the patient, unless otherwise requested, in order to record it in the doctor's records. These are;
Personal information of the patient (name, surname, date of birth, marital status, sexual relations if single, duration if married, etc.)
Gynecological history of the patient (menstrual bleeding, duration, pain, vaginal problems, urinary problems, problems experienced during sexual intercourse, etc.)
Problems that require the patient to come for examination
Pregnancy (if any) stories (has she been pregnant before, how many times, results, delivery methods , birth control methods, .. etc.)
General health information (whether he has a diagnosed disease, surgeries, medications he uses, whether he has allergies, etc.)
Family history
This information After it is received, the examination begins. The examination has 3 stages:
- Examination of external genitals
- Speculum examination
- Manual examination (Bimanual examination)
