The incidence of Alzheimer's, a fatal disease that comes with aging, has doubled in Turkey in recent years. Asst. Assoc. Dr. Gamze Şenbursa recommends Reflex Therapy against Alzheimer's.
With Reflex Therapy, the working mechanism of the brain can be affected through the signals sent to the brain. Thus, new cell formation is ensured and cell loss can be reduced.
Asst. Assoc. Dr. Gamze Şenbursa gave the following information about Alzheimer's disease and the alternative treatment method Reflex Therapy, which is especially relevant to those over 65 years of age: It is a progressive, degenerative disease caused by damage to neurons. As the cells in the nervous system die, the problems that occur in the brain reduce the person's perception, create memory problems, cause behavioral disorders, and the person's ability to care for himself decreases day by day. The disease begins with the deterioration of the brain's chemistry, the cells' communication with each other breaks down, and as a result, the cells die. For example, it begins with what we call short-term memory, that is, the inability to assign recent events and memories to permanent memory. It then progresses to a speech problem and the patient's ability to perceive disappears.
In Alzheimer's disease, different symptoms occur in the person depending on the affected parts of the brain. As the frontal lobe of the brain is affected, the person's ability to think analytically and function, such as reasoning, speaking, acting according to signals from the body, moral judgment and reasoning, decreases. As the temporal lobe is affected, functions such as memory, speech and distinguishing sounds are lost.
UNDERLYING REASONS OF THE DISEASE
Being over 65 is definitely a risk. Apart from this, a previous head injury, heart disease, heart attack, alcohol use, stress factor and depression are the conditions that can cause Alzheimer's disease.
The person's learning, memory and planning disorders, organizing, ordering events, abstraction, etc. are conditions that can cause Alzheimer's disease. The diagnosis is determined according to the extent of deficiencies and impairments in functions. In order to make a full diagnosis of Alzheimer's based on the findings, computerized tomography is used. Objective methods are also used.
IS THERE A TREATMENT FOR ALZHEIMER?
Radical treatment of Alzheimer's is still not possible. Medical treatments are applied to improve the patient's functions, control emotional and psychological changes, and increase the quality of life. But unfortunately, medications cannot prevent the progression of the disease.
NEW CELL FORMATION IS PROVIDED WITH REFLEX THERAPY
Since Reflex Therapy provides structural change of the brain; It can be used as an effective treatment method in Alzheimer's patients. With Reflex Therapy, the working mechanism of the brain is affected through the signals sent to the brain. New cell formation is ensured and cell loss is reduced. Functional losses are tried to be prevented or reduced, especially with Reflex Therapy applications on the frontal lobe, which is responsible for reasoning, motor skills, perception, speech and planning movements in the brain, and studies on the temporal lobe. As a result, with Reflex Therapy in Alzheimer's patients, a fight is waged against memory loss, psychological problems, and situations that occur due to decreased brain activation.
Old age is also a process that is a part of our lives. “If we want to spend this process with our loved ones in the best quality possible, we must take the necessary precautions.”
