Failure is an experience that every individual has. Since the day you were born, you may have been obliged to meet the expectations placed on you by your family, friends, teachers, and colleagues, and you may have been unable to fulfill these obligations. Or you may describe not being able to achieve the goals you set for yourself as failure. Failure, which has various reasons, should not lead you to despair and loss of self-confidence; the reasons should be examined. For example, it is wrong to say that a person who has no talent for music is a 'failure' in music. Not having talent in a subject or the obstacles in front of you do not make you a unsuccessful person.
So why fail?
-
Areas outside your talent: If you do not have talent in the field you strive for, you are out of your league. You may have set a goal. Of course, diligence is very important in achieving success. However, in some fields, only individuals with certain characteristics can be successful. For example, there is a certain body structure required to have a career in swimming. The diligence of an individual who does not have this structure will only take him up to a certain point.
-
Opressive parents: Overly controlling, perfectionist parents put pressure on their children. Children growing up under this pressure face intense stress that causes them to fail. The constant concern about getting good grades will turn into the concern about having a good career in adulthood.
-
Psychological reasons: Psychological factors such as learning difficulties, attention deficit, hyperactivity negatively affect the individual's life and reduce the quality of work, Therefore it causes failure. Without eliminating these factors, it will be difficult for the person to focus on the subject he is working on.
-
Lack of self-discipline: Starting to work, maintaining this effort, making a plan, and making progress towards the goal are activities that require self-discipline. The lack of control of individuals who have not acquired and developed their working and planning skills pushes them to fail.
In addition to these factors, there are many factors that cause failure. It could be a factor. Some individuals who fail for any reason become hopeless and may generalize this failure to other areas of their lives. If a person who cannot pass the exam because he did not study enough for it begins to see himself as 'stupid, incompetent, incompetent', this can seriously damage his self-confidence. Acquired failure syndrome means that people create their own cycles of failure, in a sense sabotaging themselves. Acquired failure syndrome, which can also cause depression, can only be overcome by associating failure with the right reasons and working on these reasons. Recognize the negative factors on your path to the goal you want to achieve, eliminate them and continue working.
Failure is nothing but an opportunity to start over and smarter. Henry Ford
