What is an Impacted 20-Year-Old Female? Impacted wisdom teeth treatment?

Impacted teeth are the most common cases in oral surgery. In the mouth, lower and upper wisdom teeth, maxillary canines and rarely lower-upper jaw premolars may be impacted. Impacted teeth sometimes show no symptoms and do not cause any complaints. Sometimes, they can cause huge complaints. Impacted teeth must be extracted after their presence is detected, whether they cause a complaint or not.

Complaints that may occur due to impacted teeth are as follows:

* Depending on the region they are located, from time to time, the head, ear, eye, They cause pain.

* There will be an area that cannot be cleaned well, especially between the half-impacted teeth and the gingiva, and between the impacted tooth and the adjacent tooth in front of it. Microorganisms formed as a result of food residues accumulating here cause recurring infections and cavities in the adjacent teeth. As a result of this pressure, shifts and displacements occur especially in the single-rooted anterior teeth. For this reason, the eruption positions of the wisdom teeth should be followed very strictly, especially in children and young people undergoing Orthodontic Treatment.

* Teeth embedded in the bone are contained in a sac. Over time, this vesicle may change and cause a cyst to form. Cysts that form can reach very large sizes over time, weakening the jawbone and even causing jaw fractures

In which cases is it beneficial to extract impacted wisdom teeth? Embedded 20 Dental Surgery Extraction?

1- Caries: Since wisdom teeth are far behind in position and generally cannot drive properly, their cleaning and maintenance is more difficult and therefore they are easier to decay. After these teeth decay, their treatment is also difficult because they are far behind. Also, root canal treatment cannot be applied in most cases due to the root canal structures, which are much different from other teeth. For these reasons, extractions are preferred in order to prevent conditions such as pain, abscess and bad breath that may occur as a result of caries. They can cause material loss and caries in the adjacent tooth with the accumulation of food residues around them or the pressure they apply to the adjacent molar tooth. Wisdom teeth that have the potential to cause damage in this way should also be extracted.

3- Pericoronitis: (peripheral gingival inflammation) In cases where wisdom teeth are partially impacted, bacteria accumulated between the upper gum and an infection may develop. In the meantime, conditions such as swelling on the face, difficulty in opening the mouth, pain, bad breath, swelling in the lymph nodes and fever may occur.

5- Pain: When wisdom teeth cannot erupt in their normal positions, they may cause pain with the pressure they apply to the side teeth.

6- Cyst formation: 20 In cases where wet teeth are fully or partially impacted, they may cause cyst formation in some patients. This situation can be diagnosed with a panoramic x-ray that your doctor will take during the examination.

7- Cheek biting: Although it is not very common, wisdom teeth can not grow in the normal position in general, and may cause complaints of cheek biting and mucosal injury in patients. In such cases, it is appropriate to remove the wisdom teeth as they do not function normally.
