The average age of heart attack is decreasing!

The two recent heart attack cases show that the average age of heart attack has decreased. Experts also confirm this. Experts state that the risk of heart attack is high in men, with a rate of 85 percent, and point out that the average age of heart attack victims has decreased recently. Experts also remind about the stress factor!

Heart attack is a male disease

Üsküdar University NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital Cardiology Specialist Prof. . Dr. Mehmet Baltalı made evaluations about heart attacks at an early age. Baltalı stated that heart attack is a process that results in the sudden blockage of the coronary arteries that feed the heart, resulting in no blood flow to the heart cells and death of the heart cells, and said that heart attack is a male disease. .

Menstruation prevents the risk of heart attack

It is stated that heart attack is 85 percent more common in men, but after the age of 65, this risk is equal to that of men in women. by Prof.Dr. Baltalı said:

"Heart attacks are 85 percent more common in men. Menstruation in women normally prevents a very high risk of heart attack. But 15-20 years after stopping menstruation, that is, let's say a woman stops menstruating at the age of 50, the risk of heart attack in an average 65-year-old woman is equal to that of men. Heart attack is especially a male disease and a disease of the elderly. Why is it a disease of the elderly? Because heart attacks, heart vessels begin to thicken after the age of 15. Lac accumulates. This accumulation increases over time and becomes serious. When a clot is added to that accumulation, a blockage in the heart occurs. This is the main cause of heart attack.”

Smoking is the biggest factor

Prof also touched upon the risk factors that increase heart attack. Dr. Mehmet Baltalı said, "The first is smoking, the second is male gender, the third is old age, the fourth is high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes."

It increases the risk of heart attack in parents

Prof.Dr. also touched upon heart attacks seen in young women. Mehmet Baltalı said, “In today's incident, the person who had a heart attack was both a woman and a young person. Last time The average age of people who have a heart attack is decreasing in recent years, why? Firstly, smoking, secondly, the risk is higher in those who have had a first-degree heart attack in their families, such as their parents. If his father had a heart attack before the age of 55 and his mother before the age of 65, the risk is higher. Many genetic factors, which we call homogeneous, play a role here. This means that these individuals have a higher risk of developing heart disease and having a heart attack. In young patients, parental genetic factors increase the risk of heart attack in smokers. "Thirdly, when the use of some birth control pills in women is added to these, the risk of heart attack automatically increases," he said. Noting that it is one of the important risk factors for heart attack, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Baltalı said, “It makes no difference between young and old people. Let's say you get angry somewhere, you shout, you call, there is not much risk in them. The risk is higher for those who get angry and withdraw. It is more common in people who throw things away and accumulate them. Social pressure occurs in everyone, but it is more common in those who suppress it. It is not major, but it is said to be more common. Heart attacks are very diverse. The person feels nothing but dies suddenly. Beginning to blockage and dying within an hour of starting a heart attack means sudden death. One of the most common causes of this is heart attack. Sudden death does not necessarily mean a heart attack. "There are many different reasons, but the most common is heart attack," he said.

Talking about the symptoms of heart attack, Prof.Dr. Baltalı said, “The biggest symptom is chest pain. When cardiac arrest occurs, it is necessary to immediately take the patient to intensive care and provide immediate intervention. If there is chest pain, you should go to a center that can perform angiography. This network has now spread in Türkiye. The patient must be processed within one hour. So angiography should be done. "Thus, the condition of the heart vessels is determined, and then the blockage there must be opened with a stent," he said.

Prof also explained what should be done if a person traveling alone in his vehicle has a heart attack. Dr. Mehmet Baltalı gave the following advice:

The chest starts to hurt, you pull the car aside and call 112. you will fuck You won't do anything until 112 comes. If the person loses consciousness or stops breathing, he or she is taken to intensive care and treated. When you feel pain and burning, you will pull the car over. If there is someone with you, the first 112 should be called. But if the person has stopped breathing, the airways can be opened.”
