Treatment is directed towards the cause, if the treatment is delayed, vision loss progresses rapidly and permanent vision loss, namely blindness, may occur. disorder (atherosclerosis). Other causes can be listed as embolism (clot formation), inflammatory diseases of the vessel sheath (arteritis).
Sudden glaucoma crisis: It is frequently seen in the group of patients who have not had an eye examination for a long time and therefore do not know their glaucoma susceptibility. As soon as the patient is admitted to the emergency room with nausea, vomiting, eye pain and loss of vision, the treatment process begins as soon as the diagnosis is made, and mostly vision loss is reversed.
Cataract is seen especially as a result of posterior supcapsular cataract. The patient regains visual health as a result of cataract surgery
Neurological causes: Most common multiple sclerosis (MS), intracranial tumors, vascular occlusions involving the visual center, eye migraine can be counted. Treatment is carried out in cooperation with the neurology department for the determined cause. Treatment sometimes requires medical and sometimes surgery.
