Breast Aesthetics - Breast Enlargement

Throughout history, "breast" has been the symbol of femininity and fertility. Breasts are a pair of anatomical organs that are indispensable for all humanity, including men, women and children, both functionally and aesthetically. It is every woman's dream to make this organ, which has such magnificent meanings, look aesthetically beautiful and to be able to maintain this appearance for a long time. However, at the beginning of adolescence, the breast may remain small as a result of unilateral or bilateral developmental delay of the breast structure, or it may appear smaller and/or saggy than its initial state after breastfeeding or after losing weight. In such cases, women can have fuller, firmer and firmer breasts with breast lift and/or breast enlargement surgeries.

Breast augmentation is a procedure performed with silicone breast prostheses. is the process. These prostheses can have various structures and features. The most commonly used prostheses contain silicone gel and have a rough surface. These also have two structures: round or anatomical (drop) prosthesis. Which one is preferred mostly depends on the decision of the plastic surgeon and the patient, depending on the structure of the breast.

The incisions used to place the silicone breast prosthesis are around the nipple, It can be done from the line under the breast or from the armpit area. Incisions made around the nipple may leave a stitch mark around the nipple, as well as cause partial loss of sensation in the same area and breastfeeding problems. While the patient does not experience any problems with the nipple and breastfeeding in the incisions made at the line under the breast, a stitch scar of approximately 5-7 cm may occur in the groove under the breast, which remains hidden and cannot be seen even with the thinnest bikini. In the incisions made under the armpit, there will be almost no stitch marks left on the patient after about 6 months, and bleeding that may occur during the surgery may make the doctor a little difficult.

After these incisions, let's talk about where to place the prostheses. We have two choices for this. We will either place the silicones under the breast tissue (between the breast tissue and the chest muscle), or under the chest muscle (between the chest muscle and the ribs). It's up to you to decide Your plastic surgeon should prescribe it according to the structure of your skin. However, the important point for the patient is that; Patients whose prosthesis is placed under the muscle may need a slightly longer time to start their daily activities than patients whose prosthesis is placed under the breast tissue. Silicone prosthesis alone may not always be sufficient in breasts with the nipple displaced downwards. In such cases, in addition to silicone prosthesis placement, excess skin tissue should be removed and the nipple should be moved to where it should be. This procedure is called "mastopexy" (breast lift).

Breast augmentation surgeries take approximately 1 – 2 hours and are performed under general anesthesia. After the surgery, patients can go home on the same day or the next day. Since the incision areas are mostly stitched with dissolvable hidden stitches, it is not necessary to take stitches.
