Orthodontic treatments are long-term treatments and require serious patient compliance. The better you take care of your teeth and the more you follow the rules set by your dentist, the easier, smoother and faster your treatment will proceed. Otherwise, your brackets will come off frequently, your treatment will be interrupted, and you will be faced with caries and gum problems. In a sense, the treatment will have harmed you.
1.FOODS THAT SHOULD NOT BE EATEN
*HARD FOODS
- Hard nuts such as hazelnuts, peanuts, roasted chickpeas and almonds
- Fried bread, crispy toast, street bagel, hard parts of bread
- Popcorn, potato chips
*STICKY FOODS
- Turkish delight, chewing gum, dried figs, caramel sticky and sticky foods such as hard chocolates and pastes.
2. FOODS TO BE CAREFUL WHEN EATINGFOODS
- Fruits that can be bitten whole with the front teeth, such as apples, pears and peaches, are cut into small pieces. It should be chewed with the back teeth.
- Chocolate and sugar should never be chewed; if eaten, they should be melted on the tongue.
- Foods such as chicken and meat should not be scraped off the bones with the teeth.
- Carrots, cucumbers. It should not be eaten whole, but should be consumed in grated form.
- When consuming stone-bearing fruits such as olives, cherries, sour cherries and plums, be sure to remove their seeds. It should be taken out and eaten outside, and the seeds should not be removed in the mouth.
- The hard fried parts of foods such as pita and pizza should not be eaten.
3.INTERIOR FOODS THAT SHOULD BE MEMES
- Artificial acidic ready-made drinks such as cola, fanta, sprite. Fruit juices and soda can be drunk.
4. THINGS TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT INTERORAL CLEANING /p>
HE MUST BRUSH HIS TEETH WITH A NORMAL TOOTHBRUSH 3 TIMES A DAY FOR 2-3 MINUTES. The brush should be replaced with a new one every 3 months, and all teeth should be carefully brushed one by one, especially the junction between the teeth and gums, using circular movements.
ALL THESE RULES PREVENT THE BREAKING OF THE BRACKETS ATTACHED TO THE TOOTH SURFACE DURING THE TREATMENT, Caries AND Gums. IT IS TO PREVENT PROBLEMS FROM OCCURING.
Note: It is normal to have pain, sensitivity and shaking in the teeth for 3-5 days after the first appointment where the brackets are installed. There may also be irritation on the lips and cheeks.
