Birds fly, fish swim, children play, says Garry Landrenth. While saying this, he says how normal the game is in the flow of life for children. Play is the easiest way to reach children. Through play, the child expresses himself, discovers himself, and reveals the happy and disturbing events in his plays. Playing prepares the child for the future. The child feels the sense that he is important and valuable. The child grows and develops through play. The most serious business in a child's life is play, and the most important people in a child's life are their parents. Filial Therapy has a method that combines play and family so that the child can develop healthily, establish positive relationships, and be a team with his family. Filial therapy is a psychoeducational method in which the family, in which the parents and the child are a group, take an active role, the communication of the parents with their children is strengthened, the parent learns to play with the child, understands the child better and recognizes his/her feelings. Helping the development of healthy attachment between the child and his parents, creating a sense of trust and positive self-development are among the most basic goals of Filial therapy. We said it is a process in which families are active. So how? Filial therapy is a method that consists of 10 sessions and is applied with children between the ages of 2-12 and has its limits and rules. We are holding 10 sessions in cooperation with families. We provide psychoeducation to families in the first 4 sessions of 10 sessions. We work one-on-one with the family, informing them about the limits, what to do during the special playtime, toys, how the special playground should be, and how to establish a dialogue. After 4 sessions, we want families to do their special playtime. Special game times are set to be 30 minutes, 1 day a week at the same time. While performing special game hours, we want families to videotape this watch and send us the 3 minutes they have chosen from this recording. Afterwards, we evaluate this special game hour together with the families in the face-to-face sessions we hold with families every week. The important point that we need to pay attention to here is that whichever parent received Filial therapy and whichever parent started this method, it should be continued with that parent. Another important In particular, only the child and his parent are present in the room where the game is played during special game hours. We said that there are limits to the game in filial therapy. Let's talk about borders. The first of these is the application of filial therapy at the same time on the same day every week. Our other limitations are that the toys played are specific to the special game hour and that they are removed after the special game hour is over. The list of toys we will give you in Session 2 is to be provided, and it is very important to obtain a new one even if the same toy is found at home. The place for the game is determined, the game is played in the same room, you can make a sign on the door of the room with the child, such as "do not disturb, special game time has started" and hang it on the door. In order to determine the boundaries of the game, a cover should be laid in the game room and toys should be placed around the cover. In this way, you will create a frame and border for the child. In our use limit of toys, the child will not harm their parents with toys. We need to talk about this with the boy. We will talk about the details of filial therapy in detail in our other sessions. Our main purpose in this method is to strengthen the relationships of families and to bring them together as a team. The most basic building block of society is to raise awareness of the family and to make the society healthy. Filial is a method that both informs and entertains.
