Abdominoplasty.
We call the surgery we perform to correct the deformities that occur as a result of sagging of the abdominal skin and abdominal muscles after excessive weight gain and excessive weight loss.
Reasons for Applying for Abdominoplasty
- Sagging of the abdominal skin
- Sagging and deformities due to the tear in the abdominal muscles during the postpartum period
- Removal of the stretch marks accompanying the sagging skin in the abdomen
- Sagging skin and subcutaneous tissue accompanying excessive fat in the abdominal area
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is a surgery that takes approximately 2 hours under general anesthesia. In patients with excessive fat in the abdominal tissue and herniation due to muscle tears, the surgery time may be slightly longer. After the surgery, drains that draw dirty blood in the abdomen are placed and we wear the tummy tuck corset. Our hospital stay is 1 day. The day after the surgery, the patient can go home after the first check-ups.
Abdominoplasty techniques; It is performed by two methods, which will be decided according to the degree of sagging of the skin and subcutaneous fat tissue. Among these, mini tummy tuck; It is applied to patients who do not have excess skin and tissue above the navel, but only have a slight excess of skin and fat tissue in the lower navel area. In classical tummy tuck, there is sagging and excess skin in the area below and above the belly. In the classic tummy tuck, if you have given birth by cesarean section before, all the sagging tissue under the belly button is removed through an incision made in the lowest part of the abdomen, within your pant line, where there is a cesarean scar, or if you do not have such a scar, all the sagging tissue under the belly button is removed. At the same time, the relaxed abdominal muscles are folded inwards and narrowed with the help of stitches. The belly button is removed from the remaining skin in the abdomen through a newly opened hole and placed in its new place.
Pain After Tummy Tuck Surgery
Used to tighten the abdominal muscles after tummy tuck surgery. It is normal to feel intense pain for an average of 3 days due to the swelling and stretching of the tissue due to the stitches we have applied. However, this pain gradually decreases after the 3rd day and disappears completely in about the 1st week.
Recovery After Abdominoplasty
Bruises and swelling in the abdominal tissue after abdominoplasty continue for approximately 15 days. will. We recommend cream to eliminate these swellings and bruises and advise you not to remove our abdominal corset for at least 6 weeks. We remove the drains that draw dirty blood from the abdomen on the 3rd or 5th day after the surgery. We allow showering after the drain is removed. After the surgery, we recommend that you walk slightly leaning forward to prevent the stitches placed on the abdominal muscles, which provide tightness in the muscles, for approximately 15 days. After the drains are removed, the first dressing is done, then we recommend that you make regular dressings and use antibiotics every day. Exercises that will strain your abdominal muscles should be avoided for at least 2 months, but doing exercises and walks that are not slow-paced will also increase your blood circulation and recovery process. The scars, approximately 8-10 cm long, under the bikini and panty line will lose their red color after the 6th month and will remain as stretch marks.
Side Effects That May Occur After Abdominoplasty
Infection: It can be seen very rarely, especially in individuals with diabetes. It can be prevented in the early period with antibiotic treatment.
Blood Accumulation: It is observed in cases where the drains do not work adequately or if the patient drinks blood thinners. By intervening in the early period, the accumulated blood is drained.
Bad Scar: It may be encountered if the patient's wound healing condition is problematic and the body is genetically prone to leaving scar tissue and excessive healing. In this case, scar removal injection procedures may be necessary.
Arm Lift
Surgery performed to treat the sagging of the arms due to loss of skin elasticity due to excessive weight gain and loss and aging, as well as the decrease in subcutaneous fat tissue. We call it arm lift surgery.
Our Reasons for Applying for Arm Lift Surgery
- There are skin problems caused by aging. Sagging skin of the arm
- Sagging skin of the arm and fat tissue due to excessive weight gain
- Sagging skin of the arm occurring after weight loss operations such as gastric sleeve surgery
Arm skin sagging Lift Surgery
Arm lift surgery is an operation that takes 1.5-2.5 hours under general anesthesia, depending on the degree of sagging. If the sagging of the arm skin is limited or if there is sagging only in the parts of the upper arm close to the armpit, the incision scar is made so that it remains only in the armpit. However, since most of the time this sagging extends to the elbow, the incision to be made starts from the armpit and extends to the elbow, remaining on the inner part of the arm. All sagging skin and subcutaneous fat tissue are removed. While absorbable stitches are placed in the cut areas, non-absorbable support stitches can also be placed in between to prevent the stitches from opening due to arm movements. After the operation, elastic bandages are placed on the arm. The patient is discharged after a one-day hospital stay.
Post-Operative Pain
After arm lift surgery, a mild degree of pain may be felt due to tension and swelling in the arm. However, this pain can be easily prevented with painkillers.
Post-Surgery Recovery
Bruises and swelling on the arm after arm lift surgery will continue for approximately 15 days. We recommend bruising cream to eliminate these swellings and bruises, and we advise you not to remove the elastic bandage we applied to your arm for at least 4 weeks. We allow showering on the 3rd day. We recommend that arm movements be restricted for approximately 15 days after the surgery and that you start sports that exercise the arm muscles in approximately the 2nd month. We recommend regular dressing for approximately 15 days. A daily 10-minute rubbing massage on the arm can increase blood circulation and healing, and will also help the swelling in the arm disappear early. The incision scar, which remains on the inside of the arm and cannot be seen unless the arm is lifted up, will lose its red color after the 6th month and remain as a stretch mark.
