What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma); is the abbreviated name of the method called platelet-rich plasma application. This practice involves placing the blood taken from the person into a special tube, separating it into its components, and giving the resulting platelet-enriched plasma (PRP) back to the same person by injection.
What is the purpose of PRP application?
Platelets are blood elements that contain the "growth factors" necessary to repair damaged tissues in our body and return them to their natural state. When any damage occurs in our tissues, our blood starts a repair process by collecting platelets into this tissue. The purpose of PRP application is to deliver more platelets to this target tissue than can be carried by the blood circulation. Thus, the repair of damaged tissue begins so quickly and strongly and results faster, because the density of platelets obtained with PRP is 2 to 4 times higher than in blood.
How is PRP applied in practice?
First of all, blood is taken from the person where the application will be performed, it is subjected to special procedures and platelets are separated. The separated platelets concentrate and accumulate in the tube in the kit and a blood product called PRP is produced. This product (PRP) is applied to the skin by means such as filling or mesotherapy, its rejuvenating effect on the skin becomes evident with a bright and vibrant appearance immediately after the application.
The target of PRP is the wound. Is it to ensure his/her recovery? The relationship between skin rejuvenation and wound healing >What is it?
The aging of our skin is caused by the loss of some of its physical properties, just like in the process of injury. For this reason, in applications aimed at rejuvenating our skin, we actually imitate what our body does when healing a wound with various methods. For example, with methods such as laser and peeling, we apply light treatments to our skin with certain limits. We cause damage and use this damage as a trigger to heal our skin quickly. After this damage, growth factors are released and the healing process begins. Dermocosmetic products similarly enable substances that restructure our skin or synthetically obtained growth factors to initiate a healing process.
The structure that can repair a damage to the skin in the most effective, fastest and most natural way is again the whole of the skin. Therefore, plasma application has developed as a method that activates this magical power circulating in our veins.
Is PRP application stem cell treatment?
Stem cell treatment or Cellular therapy refers to the introduction of new cells into a damaged organ to treat an injury or disease. In the PRP application, platelets are used as a factor that initiates and stimulates the repair of damaged tissue, the two applications are different from each other in this sense.
Is it a reliable application?
PRP application is“autologous”, that is, the platelets used are those taken from the patient, and procedures such as blood collection and platelet separation are performed with the help of a sterile and closed kit, meaning there is no risk of external contamination. There is no. Other than these, there is nothing added to the delivered platelets. For these reasons, the application is completely safe.
How long does the treatment last?
The application takes approximately 30 minutes in total. It is applied easily and painlessly. A healthy shine appears on the skin immediately after application. Later, there is a slight regression in this bright appearance, but after 3 or 4 applications at 20-day intervals (that is, after 1 cure), a permanent effect becomes evident.
Do the positive results obtained with one cure disappear completely afterwards?
It does not disappear, but it is necessary to repeat the cures consisting of 3 or 4 applications every 10-12 months. In this case, the effect of the applied cures is equivalent to a permanent rejuvenating effect. In other words, a cure consisting of 3 or 4 applications every 20 days should be repeated every year on average.
The rejuvenating effect provided is not concentrated only in certain areas, like the effects obtained in fillers and similar applications, but spreads over a larger part of the skin and is more permanent. The positive results provided by other methods last for a certain period of time, but the positive results of PRP belong entirely to the person to whom it is applied. It does not disappear.
Is PRP application a painful procedure?
PRP application is performed by injection outside the mask. A feeling of pain greater than the discomfort felt during blood collection is not expected. Mesotherapy application with PRP is usually performed 1.5 mm below the skin, and deeper application is required to add volume to the skin, but externally applied anesthetic creams prevent the feeling of pain in these applications.
What should be the expectations from PRP application?
PRP application for cosmetic purposes has superior features that will meet many expectations. Because;
1)It is long-acting
2)It revitalizes the skin in the most natural way, It restructures.
3)It is applied easily and safely.
4)It not only supports new collagen formation but also all vital functions of the skin.
5)It removes wrinkles and lines by "rejuvenating" the skin, not by "filling"
6)The bright healthy appearance achieved after the first application may slightly regress after a while; for this, successive applications should be made and the rejuvenating effect should be accumulated.
7)When cures consisting of 3 or 4 applications are repeated every 10-12 months, a long-acting rejuvenating effect that can be considered permanent will be achieved.
