Expert Psychologist Naciye Tokaç stated that specialist doctors explained the medical dimensions of the coronavirus in detail and explained the psychological dimensions that developed with the emergence of the virus and what can be done.
From the moment the coronavirus started to be seen in our country, I see that anxiety and sometimes panic among people has increased. Is anxiety or panic normal in this situation?
I can say that it is normal to experience anxiety. Because a real stimulus is needed for anxiety to emerge, and this epidemic is a real stimulus. However, it is not necessary to panic because what we call panic occurs suddenly and there is a great feeling of helplessness. Regarding the incident we are experiencing, if what scientists say about this virus is implemented, the virus will be prevented from being transmitted or infecting everyone at the same time. This means that this is a situation that requires serious caution without panic.
When we talk about the bad atmosphere of panic; Denying and ignoring the real concern that arises in this epidemic situation will endanger both the person's own health and the health of society. There is a serious reason to take precautions and precautions, but there is no need to panic because panic can prevent precautions.
