Laminate veneer is an application that can change both the shape and color of the tooth by making minimal abrasion only on the visible part of the tooth, instead of cutting the entire tooth and veneering it.
What material is it made of and in how many days does it take?
The material used in laminate veneer treatment can be porcelain or composite. Porcelain laminate veneers are prepared by the dental technician in the laboratory. Composite laminate veneers are applied in the mouth by the dentist. Although composite laminated teeth can be completed in a single session, porcelain laminated dental veneers can be completed within 5-7 days since they are laboratory stages.
In the preparation phase of the laminates, it is possible to prepare a composite model without touching the teeth and show the finished state in the mouth to the patient in advance. This application (mock-up) is very simple and short-term. First of all, measurements are taken from the patient and a sample model is studied in the laboratory. The patient sees the final stage on this model before the teeth are cut. Then, with a painless procedure, the teeth are abraded as much as necessary and a mold model is created by taking measurements from the mouth. The porcelain structure is prepared in the laboratory in accordance with the previously made design and is bonded to the teeth.
What are the features of laminates?
1-While the entire tooth is cut and reduced in porcelain crown applications, in this method very little enamel tissue is removed from the tooth. The fact that the natural tissue is completely intact makes the final image much more natural and aesthetic.
2 -Very little tissue is removed from the tooth.
3-It cannot be distinguished from a natural tooth due to its structural features and light transmittance.
4-It does not change color due to external factors such as coffee, tea, cigarettes.

5-Since the back surfaces of the teeth are the original tooth surfaces, the tongue does not feel any strangeness.
6-It can be prepared in the desired color, size and shape.
7-During the preparation stage, the tongue does not feel any strangeness. By making a special model study, it can be determined what kind of image will be obtained when finished.
Usage Life of Laminate Veneer Application
The usage period of Laminate Veneer application varies depending on different factors, so it is important to give a clear period for the life of the coating. It is impossible. However, good dental care and not neglecting medical check-ups will prolong the life of the treatment. After Laminate Veneer application is completed, the patient is recommended to go to the dentist for a check-up every 6 months, just as it is recommended for healthy patients. Oral and dental care should be done sensitively. Teeth should not be clenched to the point of difficulty. Steps should be taken to prevent habits such as teeth grinding. Habits that we describe as parafunctional, such as biting pens, needles and buckles, should be eliminated.
