We can say that giving breast milk, that is, breastfeeding, is the most real bond established between a mother and her baby. In addition to its proven medical benefits, we know that it also has emotional benefits for mother and baby.
For this reason, some mothers may be under more influence than necessary and worry about their low milk supply. Or sometimes it can be really little. I would like to share with you the ways to increase breast milk that I have learned from my own experiences and my patients.
Remember, I did not write this article by scanning the literature, so it has no medical basis and none of these suggestions can replace your doctor's recommendations.
Here are ways to increase breast milk:
1. Psychological factors...This is DEFINITELY the most important one. Worrying about not being able to produce enough milk for your baby REALLY DECREASES MILK. No matter how little the milk is, you should not worry; as its content changes, the baby will be full even though you may feel fatter and less full in your breasts during the day, for example in the morning. So DON'T WORRY. Especially when you first start breastfeeding, a very small amount of milk a day is enough to feed your baby. As long as you breastfeed a lot..
2. Lots of breastfeeding..The body programs itself this way. Therefore, never give up breastfeeding.
3. Tracy's method of pumping:Your baby needs more milk during certain stages of growth (called growth spurts), so he suddenly wants more milk. To increase your milk production during these attacks, express both breasts half an hour after each feeding and add it to the next meal. Continue this milking process for three days. Or three days, breastfeed the other side each time after the breast is finished, then breastfeed the first breast again. 4. Vita Malt:It is a drink produced only to increase breast milk, it is a non-alcoholic malt drink (similar to non-alcoholic beers on the market). It does not cause gas. There may be concerns about whether it will make you gain weight, a bottle is around 300 calories. It definitely gives energy to the mother.
5. Still Tee:It is a drink produced under the Humana brand for the sole purpose of increasing breast milk. It is prepared by dissolving oralet-like particles in hot water. K You can enjoy it as tea at breakfast or between meals. To be effective, it is necessary to drink around four glasses a day.
6. Fennel tea:You can drink ready-made fennel seeds by soaking them in hot water, not tea bags. If you drink it 2-3 times a day, it will be effective in reducing bloating and gas rather than increasing milk.
7. Nettle tea:I don't know if it is sold in ready-made sachets on the market, but it is sold openly in herbalists and they explain how to prepare it.
8. Raisin:It definitely works. A few hours after eating a bowl of white grapes, there is abundant milk production. effects-of-breastfeeding
9. Bulgur and legumes:This definitely works too. Production increases after a meal of bulgur pilaf + chickpeas or dried beans. But it is necessary to support it with fennel in terms of gas :)))) Onion can also be added to these.
10. Hoşaf:Drinking this regularly is also very beneficial, it can be prepared by mixing apricots and grapes without adding sugar. If you add at most 4-5 sugar cubes to a pot, it will taste very good.
11. Water:I don't know exactly the ideal amount of water, you need to drink at least 2 liters. But you should not drink too much, because too much can suppress milk production. 1-1.5 glasses seem to be enough for each breastfeeding.
12. Purslane:A funny detail, my grandmother used to feed purslane to her cows when they gave birth so that they would have plenty of milk. Starting from this, I saw that it really works... It should be consumed raw, so it can be mixed with yoghurt or lemonized and eaten as a salad.
13. Dill:This one definitely works. You eat 1 pinch of dill cure before meals, morning and evening, for 7 days.
14. Dried figs:Boil 7-8 dried figs in a glass of water and drink half in the morning and half in the evening for seven days... It can be applied as a cure.
15. Metoclopramide:This is a method that I hear frequently from my patients and should definitely not be used by heart. In fact, this is a nausea medicine and has many side effects (extrapyramidal effects, dizziness, drowsiness, etc.). On the other hand, this is the only medicine proven to increase breast milk. But never use without consulting a physician. It shouldn't happen!! In cases of decreased milk supply, it can be used for this purpose with the recommendation of a physician. For example, some pediatricians may recommend this to the mother when the baby does not weigh itself. My advice to you is that you should not use it without consulting your physician!
16. Halva. It is said that it makes you drink water and increases milk production because it makes you thirsty. You can eat it if you like, but please be careful as it is quite high in calories! It can make you gain weight!
