Blepharoplasty, Drooping Eyelid Correction Operations

As we get older; How can we look younger? We are also looking for answers to the question. For this reason, medical scientists working in line with increasing demands are developing many regeneration methods such as filling, botox, mesotherapy, PRP, as well as various aesthetic operations.

One of these rejuvenation operations is Blepharoplasty, an eyelid aesthetic operation. I will talk about this operation in general terms without boring you: Blepharoplasty is generally performed to eliminate the signs of aging on the upper eyelids. However, it can also be applied to eliminate bags and sagging under the eyes.

The upper eyelid sags over time and falls over the eye (Blepharoschalasis), and accordingly, the eyebrows and the corner of the eye are also affected by this sagging. The tissues around the eyes, which succumb to gravity over the years, can cause the person to look older than they are. This situation may cause demoralization and loss of motivation in some people.

Upper lid blepharoplasty operation takes approximately 45 minutes under local anesthesia. Afterwards, patients can regain a youthful appearance. During this procedure, sagging and loosened eyelid skin is removed along with some thin muscle layer under the skin. In this way, we get rid of these tissues that create unnecessary weight on the eyelids. After the procedure performed in experienced hands, there are no stitch marks around the eyes or on the lids. Male patients as well as females request this small but major operation with great results.

After blepharoplasty, a complete recovery usually takes place within 1 week. If people use medications such as blood thinners before the operation, they must inform the doctor about this. Otherwise, the healing process may be prolonged due to reasons such as hematoma and edema. Local medications such as pomade or ointment are generally used on the lids for approximately 3 weeks after the procedure.
