IN CHILDREN WITH HEARING LOSS
Severe hearing loss in newborns is seen in approximately one in every 1000-1500 births. In our country, within the framework of the newborn hearing screening program, hearing screening tests in newborns should be performed within one month after birth. Children with detected hearing loss should be taken to a hearing habilitation/rehabilitation program immediately.
Hearing Rehabilitation and Speech Therapy:
After detailed hearing tests and imaging are performed in these children. Then, bilateral hearing aid habilitation should be started around the age of 6 months.
