The Matter of Existence

''You always tried, you always lost. Let it be. Try again, fail again. Defeat better."

Samuel Becket

I would like to start with a legend from Greek mythology. God Zeus leaves Sisyphus at the foot of a steep mountain. He puts a huge rock in front of him. He says, "You will raise this rock to the top of this mountain." Sisyphus pulls out the rock, but when he goes to the top, the rock always falls back. This is how Sisyphus is cursed forever... Sisyphus watches the rock fall every time. Although he knows what will happen to him later, he goes down and starts carrying it again every time. Camus says that Sisyphus is happy. For him, Sisyphus's is not submission but rebellion. Sisyphus refuses to be an external control oriented and Zeus' toy. He embraces what he does and chooses to enjoy it. Sisyphus is happy now. And adds Camus: “Man has to overcome life, despite its meaninglessness and all its oppressions.” Just as Sisyphus defeated Zeus. Because the other option is unthinkable.

The founder of existential therapy, Viktor Frankl, argues that life is meaningful in all circumstances, even when it is most unbearable. Despite our inherent human fears of pain, guilt, and death, we say "yes" to life because of our potential to make the most of any situation. In other words, every person can creatively transform the negativity in his life into something positive or constructive. The highest goal that man will eventually reach is love, and man's salvation lies in loving and being loved.

As you can see, we are all Sisyphus at our core. We all have rocks, rocks. What you call life is an endless series of overcoming problems. As Camus said, it is necessary to grasp the absurdity of life, embrace it and continue our lives. Because there is no other way. One can easily fall into error and choose to be unhappy. Nietzsche also says "amor fati". In other words, it is important to accept everything that happens, good or bad, and to contribute to the development of all the mistakes and successes without being stuck in the past. it tells about love. And remember, it is the choices that determine a person's destiny. You come across in your life; "Amor Fati"...
