Breast Pain in Women

Breast complaints that most frequently cause women to consult a doctor:
a) Pain in the breast (Mastalgia)
b) Mass in the breast
c) Nipple discharge

BREAST PAIN (MASTALJI)

The most common breast-related complaint women face is breast pain. Most women experience breast pain at some point in their lives. Many women fear that pain and tenderness are early signs of breast cancer. However, pain is usually not one of the early signs of breast cancer, especially when there is no mass, discharge, enlargement or thickening of the breast. Most of the time, a definite underlying cause cannot be found. Because this type of pain may be due to an underlying benign disease such as fibrocystic breast changes or a single breast cyst or fibroadenoma.
Breast pain usually occurs in 2 ways:

CYCLIC BREAST PAINS (CYCLIC) MASTALJI)

Most breast pains are cyclical. Cyclic mastalgia affects women of reproductive age. This pain occurs towards the end of the menstrual cycle, about a week before menstruation. The breasts are usually painful, tender and swollen during this period, but towards the end of the cycle the symptoms will improve. The pain is usually felt in the outer and upper parts of both breasts, but can also affect the armpit area.

NONCYCLIC MASTALGIA

This type of pain has nothing to do with the menstrual cycle. Often there is a sharp, burning, or painful sensation in one area (or areas) of the breast rather than widespread pain and tenderness in the breast. This type of mastalgia is more common after menopause. The pain may be constant or may increase or decrease in attacks. A common cause is costochondritis (inflammation of the junction of the bone and cartilage of the rib cage).
