We Will Get Used To Each Other

Every year, a new school term begins with new excitement. This year, meeting with new students and parents started with the excitement of reuniting with old students. Every hello and welcome is a new beginning. We will see what doors new beginnings will open as we live. Although school is the place in children's lives where reading, writing, mathematics and other knowledge are learned, it is also a small part of society. It's a place where they learn many things about social life. Sharing, problem solving, coping with problems, etc. An environment where they learn. School is a living space and children carry what they learn here to society. For parents, the school environment is a step towards new learning, just like the students who start the first grade every year. This morning, three mothers, parents of first graders, came to the Guidance Service in a rush after meeting with the principal. They explained that their children were harmed verbally and physically by children in other upper grades and that they were very disturbed by this situation. After completing the meeting with the parents, I visited all the classes I was interested in at my school and organized an activity on school rules. What kind of example should we set for younger classes? When I asked the question, the answers were very nice. When did the 4th graders grow up? “Teacher, when we were in the first grade, there were older classes at school and we were very afraid of them. (We were in primary education at that time.) That's why we are trying to help first graders.” “Teacher, we take first graders into our games. "They are a little bit of a joke, but we don't say anything because they will learn." These answers are from female students. Male students were getting angry. Because first grade students were running without rules and diving into the middle of their games. We, as adults, will ignite the fire of goodness to the extent that we can reach and touch the emotions within children, with which they are in contact, and allow them to express them. The students at my school will also solve these problems. Time and patience are needed for the whole school to get used to each other. Over time, first graders will get to know the school and learn the rules. As they see that the newcomers in other upper grades are in the process of getting used to the school and environment, they will start to help. We need to be patient, with hope that the disruptions will be corrected. .
