Our patients cannot remove tartar from the tooth surface by brushing, they must definitely consult a dentist.

What affects our choice of treatment is the level at which our patients apply to us. Gum diseases can reach advanced stages without any symptoms. Therefore, it is extremely important to go to the dentist at regular intervals.

What are the causes of gum recession? What are the treatments?

The causes of gum recession range from simple to difficult; Choosing the wrong toothbrush, incorrect brushing, parafunctional habits such as pencil biting, teeth grinding and clenching, loss of bone around the tooth due to poor oral hygiene, can be counted as structural anomalies of the gum.

Gingivectomy is used for the treatment of gum diseases and gingival enlargements, and today it is used together with gingivoplasty to provide gingival aesthetics and smile design.

What are Frenulum and Frenectomy? What is the effect of the frenulum on tooth crowding and speech disorders?

Frenulum is the mucosal fold at the junction of the lip, tongue and cheek tissue and the gum. Frenulum connection exists in every individual, but the connection point varies. In cases where the frenulum extends to the gum, which we call the papillae between the upper front teeth, we see that these two teeth are separated from each other and a gap called diastema is formed. In cases where the frenulum located under our tongue extends to the lower front teeth, speech disorders may occur, especially in the letters S, R, P. Both cases can be noticed during routine dentist checks starting from childhood and can be resolved with a surgical intervention called frenectomy.
