Farewell to 2020…

We said goodbye to 2020, a very difficult year. This year's agenda was so busy that it was as if we lived 5 years together.

This year was the strangest year in most of our lives... Natural disasters, Covid-19, our health concerns, quarantine practices, staying away from our loved ones...

At first glance, it seems like we'll only remember the negative things about 2020. Our mind likes to filter because it makes its job easier. That's why some of us may remember negative events more easily, our mental filter tends to do so. 2020 has had plenty of material on this subject.

But this seems unfair to both 2020 and ourselves, because a few good things happened this year. As I finish this year, I don't want to leave my memories on autopilot. Instead, I want to remember what I have gained by putting in a little effort. I invite you to do the same.

What did 2020 bring to me?

At the very beginning, I realized that what we call the common human condition really exists, that it is not a term on paper. This year, we were all worried about our health and afraid for our loved ones. We all tried to cope with this fear, we were not alone.

Then, we were locked at home and restricted due to the coronavirus, but moving the training to the online platform was an opportunity for me. I was able to receive the mindfulness (conscious awareness) training online, which I wanted to receive for a very long time but was always postponed due to distance, and this was one of the best steps I have taken in my life. I had the opportunity to follow many of the webinars and live broadcasts.

I realized how much I love nature and, moreover, how much I need it. It was so nice to be able to hear the sounds of birds when there was no one on the street during the first quarantines...

And again, I realized that we are chained to nature, I already knew it, but I "got it". For my part, I started to be careful to do my best.

When you think about it, you can find a lot of things.

Calendars are artificial concepts, we change a year in a day, everything feels like it is being renewed. Actually it was just yesterday, then there is tomorrow. It's not the calendar that changes, it's us. Our hope, motivation, effort are changing. For this purpose, sometimes we may need a tool such as the new year, and sometimes other things.

In the new year, Even though some of the problems of the old one continue, we will try to do our best.

I hope 2021 brings good news about health and that it will be a happy and peaceful year for everyone.
