3rd Stage: It is the process from the birth of the baby until the placenta and its appendages come out.
For a normal birth to occur, uterine contractions must be regular and the cervix must be able to open. With contractions, the baby is pushed downwards and moves forward. If the baby's head is in harmony with the birth canal, it will continue to move forward with contractions.
For birth to occur, the cervix must be dilated by 10 cm. When the baby's head comes out, an episiotomy is performed and the baby is removed. Then, the placenta is expected to separate. When the placenta is separated, it is removed with its appendages. It is checked to ensure that there are no intrauterine fragments left. The cut episiotomy area is stitched, dressed, and the patient is taken to her room and can now be alone with her baby
