Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder in which children have serious difficulties in social interaction, communication skills and interests. Symptoms usually appear before the age of 2.

Children with autism spectrum disorder are affected on many different levels. Some show mild symptoms, while others are severely affected and may not be able to speak or live independently.

  • Atypical Autism: This is the typical manifestation of autism.

  • Rett Syndrome: This is a rare autism spectrum disorder that only occurs in girls. In addition to loss of language skills, social interaction and motor skills, repetitive behaviors are also seen.

  • Autism treatment begins with early diagnosis and intervention. Children with autism spectrum disorder can be supported with different treatment methods such as speech and language therapy, behavioral therapy, preschool education, and drug therapy. The education of individuals with autism is tailored to their learning capacities and needs. In addition, it is important that families of individuals with autism receive education and support.
