The reactions we receive from outside, our experiences, our thoughts, our genetic characteristics, etc. are important factors in the formation of our self-confidence. However, self-esteem is a state of acceptance and peace that a person defines within himself. Self-esteem develops on feelings of competence and worth. As a person's perception of competence and worthiness increases positively, self-esteem also increases. Jung touched upon the foundations of self-esteem by saying, "If you want to be happy, recognize your limits and accept them."
