It's Time for Laser Epilation

Laser epilation is known as the most effective, easy and permanent method of getting rid of hair. The most suitable period for laser epilation is autumn and winter.
Laser generally means light concentrated in a single wavelength.

What is the mechanism of action?

The laser recognizes the colored pigment in the hair follicles, called melanin, and creates heat and destroys the hair follicle. In some laser types, the vessels that feed the hair are destroyed, causing the hair to disappear permanently.

How is laser epilation done?

Laser epilation consists of several processes. First, the area is cleaned, then the hair in this area is shortened and scanned with a laser. Laser energy passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The treated hair follicles are neutralized in less than a second. Depending on the extent of the area, the duration of treatment may range from a few minutes to several hours. Hairs begin to fall out spontaneously within 2–3 days, and this loss continues until the 3rd week.

What should be the starting age of laser epilation?

Hair formation Anyone who has completed the procedure and does not have any health problems that would prevent the application can have laser epilation. It can be applied to girls from the age of 12-13 if hair formation is complete. We preferably start at those over 18 years of age. Since white hairs do not contain color pigment, they will not be affected by laser epilation. It is appropriate not to have laser treatment during pregnancy.

Why is it not done in a single session?
The hair on our body is in 3 different stages for all regions at the same time. These phases are called anagen (active), catagen (rest) and telogen (shedding). Each hair passes through these stages independently of each other and at different times. Laser epilation only affects hair in the anagen (active) period. For this reason, it is not possible to remove all the hair in the applied area with any device in a single session. Although the treatment process depends on the person's skin color, hair color, hair thickness and density, it takes an average of 4-6 sessions for the body parts and 5-8 sessions for the face area. Special conditions such as medications used and hormonal disorders will increase this process.

There are side effects. ?

Laser epilation does not have any permanent side effects. After the application, some skin may experience redness and slight blistering. This will resolve within a few hours or a few days for very sensitive skin. It is important that it is done by experts in a hospital environment.

How long does the treatment take?

Laser epilation time varies depending on the size of the area to be treated. Large areas are completed in an average of 1-1.5 hours, and small areas such as mustaches and chins are completed in 5 minutes.
