What does Play Therapy mean? What is the Purpose of Therapy?
Play is indispensable for every child. When every child is given the chance to express themselves through play, it is the one area where they push their limits the most. Play Therapy is a therapy technique that enables children between the ages of 3-13 to open and express themselves emotionally when they experience certain problems, and as a result, it is based on finding the origin of the problem.
The aim is for the child to express himself and reach emotional satisfaction. In therapy, the child opens his/her own world to the therapist with the toys and materials used. As a result, the specialist becomes a kind of bridge between the family and the child. It tries to restore destroyed or disturbed balances. In this way, families see what their children feel, that they may have different perspectives, and that they sometimes expect things that they cannot realize.
