What is Intelligence?
Intelligence is an objective definition that experts agree on. It is nothing. Things that IQ tests measure, such as vocabulary, general knowledge, and the ability to see similarities between different objects (e.g., a table is like a chair, they are both furniture) can be improved through training.
Although there is never a consensus on what intelligence is, IQ test results are an indicator of people's
both their academic success and the status they can gain in the future. In the past
intelligence was defined more as "quick thinking", and human beings even called people who showed success in daily life as "intelligent" and those who showed superior success as "gifted".
It would be correct to evaluate intelligence as the capacity that an individual uses to act purposefully, think rationally and cope effectively with his/her environment.
Intelligence is the capacity to acquire knowledge, learn and solve problems. It is the set of cognitive abilities that enable it.
What are the Components That Make Up Intelligence?
1- The ability to benefit from experiences and learn.
2- Abstract the ability to think or reason.
3- The ability to adapt to a changing and uncertain world.
4- Performing the tasks one needs to do quickly, using time well, self-motivation
ability.
Does the Environment Affect Intelligence?
In addition to the effect of heredity on the development of intelligence, the environment also has a significant impact. It is accepted by experts that nutrition, in addition to both, plays an active role in the development of intelligence.
INTELLIGENCE = HERIDITY + ENVIRONMENT + NUTRITION
Is it Possible to Increase Intelligence Potential?
* Man has the ability to increase and develop his own intelligence.
* Intelligence not only changes, but can also be taught to others.
* Human intelligence is a multi-dimensional structure that emerges as a result of the interaction of the brain and mind systems in humans. It is a versatile phenomenon.
* Although human intelligence shows great diversity and versatility, it is a whole within itself.
Intelligence is uniform. Those who think that it comes from birth at a fixed level and always remains at the same level are wrong.
This idea has been destroyed with the “Multiple Intelligence Theory”.
What are the Types of Intelligence?
* Verbal Intelligence
* Logical Intelligence
p>* Visual-Spatial Intelligence
* Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence
* Musical-Rhythmic Intelligence
* Intrapersonal-Personal Intelligence
* Interpersonal intelligence
* Nature-existential intelligence

What are the scales used to evaluate intelligence, attention, perception?
1-Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children IV
Cognitive abilities and skills of children and adolescents (6-16 years old). It is the most up-to-date of the tests used to evaluate it.
The test is very useful and useful in terms of learning the child's cognitive ability, interests, strengths and weaknesses
. In addition to the child's general intelligence level, it provides a comprehensive evaluation of the child's verbal, perceptual, time
competent use of time, and attention, concentration and memory skills
2-Stanford. -Binet Test
It is applied to children between the ages of 2-6. It provides information about the child's fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, visual
memory, and auditory memory, allowing
the comparison of reasoning skills with their peers.
3-Leiter International Performance Test
It is a performance test that does not rely on language, aiming to determine the mental performance of children with hearing and speech problems. It is applied to individuals between the ages of 2-18.
There are also other tests applied in our center so that we can make psychological evaluations of child or adult clients.
These are;
4- WISC-R Intelligence Test
It is an individual intelligence test applied to determine the mental performance of individuals. It is applied to children between the ages of 6 and 16.
What are the other diagnostic scales applied to children?
* Catell 2 A: It is an intelligence test applied to children between the ages of 7 years and 6 months and high school.
* Catell 3 A: Intelligence Test applied to individuals with university education is.
* Good Enough: It is a special kind of intelligence test in which the child's intelligence can be determined by the human picture he draws.
* Ankara Developmental Screening Inventory: It evaluates the development of children aged 0-6 years. It is a developmental test that can answer whether the child is normal or backward compared to his/her peers.
* Peabody Picture-Word Matching Test: Picture-word matching test, in which the receptive language age of children between the ages of 2-11 can be determined, and which sheds light on speech disorders and verbal expression. It is a matching Test.
* Gessell: It is a developmental test in which the visual motor and perception development of children between the ages of 2 and 6 is evaluated.
* Metropolitan: It is for children between the ages of 5 years 6 months and 6 years 0 months. It is a school maturity test that can be applied and measures whether the child is ready to start primary school.
* Frostig: It is a perception test that helps evaluate children's visual perception. It is a school maturity test that can be applied to children between the ages of 5 years and 6 months and 6 years and 0 months, and measures whether the child is ready to start primary school. It is an attention and perception test that can provide information about memory status and detect attention deficit.
* BENDER GESTALT: This test is used as a developmental test to see visual motor function in children and prevents retardation and regression in both adults and children. It sheds light on detecting loss of function and organic brain damage, and finding personality deviations, especially in regression cases. (such as mental retardation, aphasia, various organic brain damages, psychoses, unreal illnesses)
