Medicana Samsun Hospital Child Health and Diseases Specialist Dr. Yeşim Çınar Yakar gave information about the impact of the covit-19 epidemic on children.
“COMMON FEVER, FATIGUE AND HEADACHE APPEAR IN CHILDREN”
Medicana Samsun Hospital Child Health and Diseases Specialist Dr. said that children are mainly affected by the upper respiratory tract (nose, mouth and throat) during the Covid-19 epidemic process. Yeşim Çınar Yakar said, “For this reason, they do not have access to the lower respiratory tract, that is, the lungs, and the pneumonia and life-threatening Sars symptoms that we see in adult patients are not frequently encountered in them. In studies conducted on 198 children who were positive for Covid-19, 55% had fatigue, 54% had headache, and almost half had fever symptoms. However, sore throat, skin rashes and diarrhea are among other common symptoms. "In short, the most common coronavirus symptoms in children are fever, fatigue and headache," he said.
BEWARE OF MIS-C DISEASE

"It does not occur in every child who has Covid-19, there are many unknown factors, especially genetics, as to which child will develop it. What is known is that Covid 19 triggers the factors in the formation of MIS-C disease in predisposed children," he said.
