Thyroid hormone is such an important hormone that it affects all body functions. The most common one we encounter today is Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Hypothyroidism negatively affects life;

How should one eat in hypothyroidism?

Iodine deficiency causes hypothyroidism, so the use of iodized salt is important.

Sometimes the use of iodized salt may not be sufficient; if the person consumes too much goitrogenous nutrients, iodine absorption is prevented. It is especially beneficial not to consume too much raw cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprouts, radishes, cauliflower, turnips, soybeans, mustard and peanuts. Consuming it by cooking will be healthier as it will reduce the amount of goitrogenous substances.

Stay away from foods containing caffeine, especially coffee, tea, cola, chocolate.
When selenium is inadequate, thyroid functions become irregular. In order to prevent the selenium level from decreasing, fish, beef liver, turkey and veal, lentils, mushrooms, sesame, walnuts, sunflower seeds and whole grains should be consumed in sufficient amounts.

Since chocolate also contains cadmium, thyroid patients should consume it with caution. Excessive cadmium removes selenium from the body.

Omega-3 has the feature of regulating thyroid functions, consume fish twice a week.
Try to consume whole grain products and legumes. Dried legumes are a good source of vegetable protein and should be consumed twice a week. If you smoke, try to quit. Smoking reduces thyroid functions.

The most common problem in the thyroid is edema. Therefore, never neglect your water consumption, try to drink 2-2.5 liters of water a day.

Have a healthy day..
